

Mildred was predeceased by her husband, Bob Cooper, Sr, her parents Lydia (Merritt) Teachey, and Leon Teachey.
She is survived by her Son, Bob Cooper, Jr (Pam); her Daughter, Cathy Spruill (Marshall); her Granddaughter, Susan Patterson; her Great-Grandchildren, Travis (Carly), and Chelsea, and Great-Great Granddaughter, Bennett.
In her teens, Mildred and her family moved to Raleigh from Duplin County (Warsaw) where she attended Meredith College. After college, she started working for a dental office on Wade Ave, and then went on to work at the Department of State Treasurer in the investment and banking division. She retired from the department in March of 1995 after 30+ years of service. She returned for a couple of years to the department as a retiree and left at age 82. Travels included many cruises, trips to Florida, France, and Hawaii.
Mildred and Bob purchased a house in Hawaii to be close to their son who owned a chocolate factory in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. She and Bob entertained many friends and family in their Hawaii home. They traveled to their house in Hawaii six months out of the year, and then stayed every other year. Their last trip to Hawaii was after Covid due to failing health.
A visitation for Mildred will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612. A funeral service will occur Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612. A graveside service will occur Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park, Funeral Home & Cremations, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603.
