Minhthu Nguyen

Minhthu Nguyen, born April 24th, 1977 passed in the presence of her loving family on September 8th, 2015 following her 4 year long battle against breast cancer. Survived by her husband Padrick Barrett and daughter Lien, parents Samuel and Than Thi Nguyen of Raleigh, elder siblings Phong (Tran) Nguyen of Raleigh, Ann (Patrick) McGinley of Ridgewood, New Jersey, along with many adoring Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews.

Minhthu was the first American born family member after her parents fled war torn Vietnam and was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University for undergraduate and post graduate studies, earning her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2004. She followed her brother to Raleigh, North Carolina and in 2004 went into business with her Sister-In-Law, Tran Nguyen. Together they owned and operated a successful dental practice in Wake Forest until the time of her death.

Minhthu enjoyed spending time with many family and friends as well as helping others. Minhthu had a generous, kind, and caring spirit and her beautiful smile radiated warmth wherever she went.

A time of Visitation will be held from 10-12 p.m. Saturday September 12, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 300 Saint Mary's St. Raleigh, NC 27605.
