

Danford E. Raynor, Sr., her loving husband of 47 years, preceded her in death on October 4, 2004.
Born in Selma, N.C. on September 12, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Walton Theodore and Betsy Johnson Phillips. Also proceeded in death by her sister, Linda Phillips.
Ann dedicated 30 years as an elementary school teacher in Wake County. She and her husband owned and operated The Brass Key in downtown Raleigh for 25 years. They moved from Historic Oakwood in Raleigh, N.C. to Pinehurst, N.C. in 2004, where she enjoyed gardening, bridge clubs, book clubs and all of her very dear friends. She was very loving and devoted to her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Michele Raynor Haswell and husband Phillip of Knightdale, N.C., one son, Dr. Danford E. Raynor, Jr. and wife Shanna of New London, N.C., three wonderful grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Haswell, Madalynn Raynor, and Danford E. Raynor, III, and wonderful step-grandchild, Kayla Cole. Also surviving is one brother, Rex Phillips and wife, Gale of Hampton, Virginia, brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Clara Raynor of Garner, N.C., Dewey and Becky Raynor of Elizabethtown, N.C., and Faye Cline of Salisbury, N.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great niece.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to First Health Hospice of Moore County, the Raynor family, Samantha Cummings, and all of her beautiful friends.
Celebration of Ann’s life will be held at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 300 St. Mary’s St. Raleigh, on Monday, February 9th. Family will receive friends 11am - 1pm with her Memorial Service in the chapel at 1pm. Graveside service will follow at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, with everyone welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Health Hospice of Moore County, N.C.
