Mrs. Ngon Vo was born on August 29, 1926 in Gocong, Vietnam. She is first daughter of Mr. Ran Van Vo and Canh Thi Tran. Her mother passed away when she was 11 years old and left her with two younger sisters. Later on her father remarried and she had four more half-sisters and one half-brother.
She married Dong Van Nguyen on August 25, 1942, and they moved to Saigon and had 13 children.
Her family came to United States on September 29, 1992. Almost all of her children and their families have settled in Raleigh. Her two oldest sons still remain in Vietnam, and one lives in France.
Mrs. Ngon Vo believed in God and was baptized at Riverside Baptist Church in Graham City, North Carolina on August 27, 2006. She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. In the last few months of her life, she still recognized and thought of her children, grandchildren and friends when they came to visit her even though her vision was gone. Her faith in Jesus Christ was strong; she always wished to live with the Lord soon in Heaven.
She was brought to rest in the Lord on March 23, 2011 at 7:30 PM. For 85 years she lived out her life on Earth, now she will spend eternity with God.
Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, with cremation services to follow.
