Ok Boon So

Grandma So married Im Joon So, and together they had six children: Ok Sun Bowles, Jin Sok So, Ok Ja Yoo, Jin Chol So, Ok Ryun Choe, and Jung Yeol Ku. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

She was known for her compassionate heart, love of flowers, and unwavering faith in God. Every morning, she would wake up at 6 a.m. to kneel in prayer for each family member. She expressed her love through cooking, always filling plates with warmth and joy—though, in her eyes, no one ever ate quite enough, prompting her to offer another heaping scoop of rice.

Even in her final moments, she remained selfless and her love was infectious. Although she will be dearly missed, we find comfort knowing she is with the Lord and Grandpa.

A funeral service for Ok was held Saturday, April 5, 2025 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612. A graveside service followed at Raleigh Memorial Park.
