I met Pastor Pete when my husband attended converting hearts ministries and Pastor Pete and Pixie were the most supportive people in our lives training us up in biblical passages and they let us live with them for a time until we could get out on our own two feet. I don’t know what to say except they helped us at a point in our lives to where no one else would and they loves us a true Christians and believers in Christ. Pastor Pete will be missed. I think about him often and pray for the family and am sorry for their loss. He is in Heaven with his savior and I’m so happy to have known him.

I first met Pastor Pete and Miss Pixi at a counseling session.  His biblical counsel on that day was hard at first to take, but I knew that what he sharing was correct. It was then that I came to realize this man had a true heart for Christ. I looked forward to our sessions. I wasn't a member of Victory Baptist. Then one day my wife asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday. I told her that I wanted to attend a Pastor Pete church service. I enjoyed the service so much that I wanted to come back for evening service rather than go to dinner. Just being around him was so special to me, During my three month stay in the hospital, he and Miss Pixi were almost always there. In fact Pastor Pete fed me my first meal when I was able to swallow food. I can assure you that I love the man . I am a Dallas Cowboy fan, natural rival for the Philadelphia Eagles. He and Miss Pixi are the only Eagles fans that I love enough to give them gifts with that horrible bird on it. I say all of this to try and let you know much Pastor Pete means to me. He will always have a special place in my heart and the hearts of my family. Thank you Lord for the time I shared with him and all the people I met through him.

Pete and Pixi were always Mr and Mrs Gable to me, because I babysat their children when we all lived in Lewisville NC and attended Lewisville United Methodist Church!! They were a great family to sit for and wonderful fellow church members. I'm sorry we lost touch, but I still considered them friends. Love, peace,  prayers, and blessings go out to the family.

My heart was saddened a bit to read of Pete's completion of his life journey.  But, then, I quickly realize that he is the one who got promoted and is thoroughly enjoying his life in the presence of Christ. 
Please know that I loved and respected Pete. He was a servant of Christ par excellence.

I met Pastor Pete in 1997. I was in need of biblical counseling, and he had found that to be a major part of his calling in being a pastor. I quickly realized that he believed strongly that the Bible has very practical and always truthful answers to any situation we may face. His counsel meant so much to me that I moved to Victory Baptist and have been a member there since then. He was a wonderful pastor and friend, and I know that now he is enjoying the fruits of his labor here on earth. He will be sorely missed by me and my family.

Pete was a child of God who displayed his faith and love for God wherever he was.  That faith has had such an impact on my life in the 20 years I have known him. He has been my hubby's (Richard) best friend  and golf buddy for ovee 40 years and the golf trips to Old Mill will not be the same.  There weren't many weeks since his cancer diagnosis that Pete ( with Pixi by his side) wasn't on that golf course loving life.  I will always cherish the memories of our Parcheesi games together as couples.  Pete and Richard teamed up against Pixi and myself and what fun we had over the years. Never mind who won (although the guys loved it when they did) - it was all about Christial fellowship together. We love you Pete and will miss you so much.

Golf Partner -

I already miss my dear friend.   I am Uncle Pete's nephew and was fortunate to spend the past 55 years spending time and playing golf with him.   We've played many times in NC, PA, FL and Bermuda.   The last text he sent me was a picture of us golfing at The Mid Ocean Club in St. George's, Bermuda.  He was one of the kindest gentlemen you'll ever meet.  Just don't play slow in front of him!

He loved the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his mind and all his strength. 

He loved Pixi, his dear wife of over 50 years, their lovely children, Jenny (Brian) and Lil Pete (Cherie), and his four grandchildren, Linsey, Sara, Bren and Matt with all his heart.

He also loved his Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillips!

He is one of the greatest men I've ever met.  I miss him dearly and look forward to teeing it up again in heaven!

It is a shock to see my little brother's obituary.  I am the older sister and I used to torture Peter when our mother put him to bed. He would say his prayers and she would leave the door open a crack. After mother got downstairs,  I would reach up from under the bed and touch him!! He would scream and I ran into my room pretending I didn't know what was happening.  After a few years of torture,  Peter finally had enough and broke a wooden child's chair over my back☺️😁🙄😉 That was the end of the torture 😅😂👌♥️♥️. He was the best brother in the universe. We were so close. I love him. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏

 George Patton said that we should not morn the loss of good men but that we should thank God that they lived.

I thank God for putting my friend Pete in my life and even more for the assurance that we will be together again in Eternity.

Grief never ends....but it changes.  It is a place of passage, not a place to stay.  Grief   is not a sign of weakness or a lack of faith.  It is the price of love.

Rest well, my friend.  I will see you in God's time on the first tee .
