Phyllis worked for AT&T in Richmond before moving to Raleigh where she worked for Durham Life Insurance as a secretary. She will be remembered for her contagious smile, unconditional care and giving nature that she had. She was still driving herself around until the last three weeks before her passing. She was a very independent woman who enjoyed getting out and around. She was an avid gardener, cook and photographer.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Floyd and her brother and his wife Paul and Kitty Fulchers and her sister Vernice York.
She is survived by her son Dan Tucker of Raleigh and her caregiver Karen Harris of Knightdale.
A time of visitation will be held from 2-4 pm Sunday August 30, 2015 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home 300 Saint Mary’s St. Raleigh. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday August 31, 2015 at The West Raleigh Presbyterian Church 27 Horne St, Raleigh, NC 27607. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park, Raleigh.
