

Raj Pal Kakkar (1935-2013), passed away on Thursday May 30th 2013, in Cary, NC, USA, at the age of 78. Born in Western Punjab of undivided India, he was the son of Mr. Gian Chand Kakkar and Mrs Veerawali Kakkar. Mr. Raj is survived by his sons Ashok Kakkar and Vivek Kakkar, daughter-in-laws Vibha Kakkar and Nivedita Kakkar, and grandchildren Raunaq Kakkar, Aditya Kakkar and Rishi Kakkar.
Mr. Raj was a strong and courageous person, who moved to India post India-Pakistan partition in 1947 and established himself in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. Mr Raj was a Mechanical Engineer by profession working at BHEL, Bhopal, India. He was the most loving person who left a big impact on his family, friends and anyone who came in his contact.
After retirement, Mr. Raj moved to USA and became a US citizen, living in Cary for last six years with his son Vivek . He was an avid reader and a keen learner who enjoyed mastering new skills. His life journey was full of inspiration and leaves rich memories for his sons and grandchildren.
A memorial prayer service followed by cremation will be held at 3:30 pm Friday, May 31st, 2013 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St Mary’s Street, Raleigh, NC.
