I still think about the  1972 Summit Basketball team that Randy , Dale, Rob Shore, Jimmy Stockton, and me that went 21-2...
Randy loved to shoot and hated to run. Only kid on the team that  could hit a jump shop.

Randy and I were friendly law firm competitors back in the day.  He was always generous with his time, experiences, funny stories and eager to share an after hours cold beer.  I admired him, appreciated his skill and his humanity.  My sincerest condolences to Amy and the family.

Randy is leaving a legacy of family, friends and a life well lived. We will miss his laughter, joy and his concern for others. I feel lucky to know him and will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.

Although I only knew Randy professionally, he impressed me as one of the most caring and thoughtful attorneys I have ever worked with. Randy immediately made me feel comfortable in two specific situations when I retained his counsel. I am thankful for the gracious calls and interactions I had with him.         It was a real shock to hear of Randy's passing.   I loved his spirit and zest in all things and am having a hard time reconciling that memory with him being gone.   We rarely saw him after he left Hunton but it was always fun to catch up.

Dear Amy, Andrew and Banks, I am sincerely sorry for your loss.  Randy was a great guy, loved his family unequivocally and was admired by many.  During our work together at Hunton & Williams, Randy was a wonderful boss, fair, reasonable and more than willing to share his knowledge of the law.  His personal life provided all with a tremendous role model to strive to achieve.  I always admired the absolute love he had for Amy, his sons and family. Very sorry for your family's loss Amy. I know it has been a long time since our paths crossed, but I always knew that the two of you would make a life-long team. I had some great times with Gabe when we lived together in MD. Loved seeing him leave for work with his surfboard strapped to the roof for a little riding in Ocean City before coming home. He also whipped me regularly in our "friendly" tennis matches on the courts at Salisbury State. He got sick of me borrowing one of his pairs of cool shoes for outings, but the man had great taste. Randy loved playing basketball, and we had a great time winning a 3 on 3 tournament together in the mid 90s.  We wern't great players, but we excelled at recruiting ringers to carry our team!  lol.  RIP, my friend. 

Amy and family, sending love and virtual hugs to you! I am so glad I had the pleasure of meeting Randy many years ago on my trip to NC and staying in your beautiful home. Many will miss his presence, but especially you. Prayers are being sent to our heavenly Father on your behalf. Randy was our company’s attorney for the past few years and he was a close and dear friend of mine. I will miss him, his energy and his attitude towards life. He taught me how to look at life with a perspective so powerful that it changed my life. He was always one to put a smile on our face with his wit and pick us up with his words when our spirits were low. Personally, he injected a lot of faith and meaning in our lives with his wisdom.  He was a mentor to me and my family. 

We are truly devastated by his loss and he is irreplaceable in our lives. We pray the good Lord take care of him.

Oh, Amy.
Lisa and I are deeply grieved to read Randy's obituary. 
I remember our times at UNC when we were all together striving for the path to our vocations  and the fun we had along the journey.  Thanks for being our best next door neighbor for 15 years.  The babies born (now grandkids), New Year's Eve parties and the Super Bowl extravaganzas where a 7  y.o. Banks was the "bartender".  Randy led a blessed life and achieved great success thanks to his charm, quick wit and brilliance.  You were always his great Love and it showed.  Our deepest heartfelt sympathy and condolences for you, David, Andrew, Banks, and all your extended families, are a mirror of the joy we shared growing up together with you all. Amy --  My condolences to you and the family on Randy's passing.   The image that I will remember of Randy is that always welcoming smile regardless of where we crossed paths.  He will live on in that image and in the legacy created with the family.
