Randy Lee Smith

He is lovingly remembered by his dear wife of 25 years, Leah Nall Smith, his three precious daughters, Natalie Smith Goodwin and husband Brian, Olivia Smith and Danielle Smith. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Bonnie Collins and husband Greg, his brother, Terry Smith and Dana Chastain; also remembered by his mother-in-law, Blanche Nall and the late D.R. Nall, Jr., brother-in-law, Steve Nall and wife Sherry, and sister-in-laws, Karen Monroe and husband Al and Ina Hussey and husband Steven, and by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Clarence and Bernice James, and Moffit and Minnie Smith.

Randy graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and attended UNC Chapel Hill, receiving his BS degree in Biology. He worked for Merck Pharmaceuticals for over 20 years; most recently as a Medical Account Executive and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Randy loved to talk with others and had a wonderful sense of humor. He had a unique ability to make people feel special and was able to bring the best out of anyone he met. It was his nature to be a leader and he was a true perfectionist. He was charismatic and selfless; people were drawn to him because of his humility, his expertise and his genuine caring heart. Above all, he was the best husband and father, always being there for his wife and daughters. He will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, November 25, from 2:00-4:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh NC. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church on Monday November 26, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
