Reggie is survived by his daughters, Marie Lester Pugh and husband, Charles, and Brooks Lester Murphrey and husband, Ben and granddaughter Elizabeth Gray Murphrey, all of Raleigh, NC. Surviving siblings include his sister, Sandra Lester Fusfeld and his brother, Chris Lester, of Ocala, FL. He is also survived by Joan Bardin Lester and Nancy Webb Lester.
Reggie was born on December 2, 1948 in Sanford, North Carolina to the late LeRoy Moore Lester and Frances Mason Lester. He graduated from Seventy-First High School of Fayetteville, NC in 1967 and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Political Science.
A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 3 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC. His family will greet friends immediately following the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Reggie’s life.
