Richard Ray Peck, 85, currently of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Chattanooga, TN, passed away on January 18, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie and B.L. Peck, three brothers, and four sisters.
Richard was an innovator in the Pulp and Paper industry as a chemist. He was also a man who could do or fix anything and was an extraordinary problem solver. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Sarah, of 61 years, as well as a devoted father and grandfather. Richard and Sarah’s secret to a long marriage was always putting the other first.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah; two sons, Stephen Richard Peck, and his wife, Carol, and Douglas Edward Peck, and his wife, Elaine; daughter, Karen Peck Tyson, and her husband, Jeff; four grandchildren, Daniel, David, Benjamin, and Nicholas; and a great-granddaughter, Caprica.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2014, at 1pm, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
