Born in Chicago and raised in Clinton, Iowa, Ron excelled as a student and athlete before attending Iowa State University, where he earned a Naval ROTC scholarship. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy before embarking on a 40-year career with the Trane Company, which took him across the U.S. and around the world.
Ron met Emily in New York City, and their 65-year love story was marked by travel, adventure, and a shared commitment to family. They lived in several cities, including Sao Paolo Brazil, and traveled extensively together. Ron’s passion for life extended to his family, with his granddaughters, Carli and Heather, bringing him immense joy in his later years. He was also a dedicated Notre Dame football fan, especially proud of his sons who attended the university.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emily, and their sons, Greg and Dwight; and his granddaughters, Carli and Heather.
