

Ruby Moore Carrington, 83, passed away with her family by her side at Rosewood at The Cypress of Raleigh Monday morning at 10:35. She was the daughter of the late Dalsey Moore and Ella Godwin Moore Salmon. She grew up in Lillington, NC with her Mother and Step-Father, William Henry Salmon.
She is survived by her husband, John H. Carrington, daughter Diane McKinnie Dunn, son Jeffery McKinnie, grandson Scott Dunn, step sons, Kent Carrington, wife Clarinda, step-grandchildren Sean, Colleen, Maille, Caitie, and Erin, and Scott Carrington, and his wife Tracy; sisters and their husbands, Daisy Stephens Sigler, husband John, Iris Salmon Pendergrass, Grace Salmon Freeman, husband Joseph, and brother Jeff P. Salmon, sister-in-laws, Irma Salmon and Carol Salmon, her many nieces and nephews, Marybell Hopkins, her best friend for over 60 years, and her loyal and wonderful Labrador- Abby.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Turner McKinnie, her sister, Marie Moore Brown, her brothers Robert G. Salmon and Paul W. Salmon, and her sister in-law Patsy Salmon.
Ruby enjoyed fishing and working in her vegetable garden. She was an excellent and accomplished seamstress, loved making porcelain dolls and their clothes, monogramming, quilting, ceramics and crocheting.
A celebration of life will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park & Mausoleum located at 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh NC Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 am for family and friends. A reception immediately following the memorial will be held at Mitchell's Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC, for all to celebrate her beautiful life with her family and friends.
