

Sally Warren Navey died Wednesday, September 11 at the Oaks of Mayview. Sally was born in 1924 to Era Duncan Warren and Edmund Pickney Warren in Ellenboro, NC. She was the third of five children and grew up in Charlotte. NC. She graduated from Central High School and attended Queens College. She worked for the Federal Reserve in Charlotte.
She married Robert Navey in 1952 and they had one daughter. They moved to Greenville, SC and later to Raleigh. Sally was involved in service and social organizations and was an active member of Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and an elder, as well as holding offices in other church groups. For many years she enjoyed playing golf and bridge as well as sewing and gardening. She enjoyed working at NC State University for a period of time. She always found pleasure in travel and especially liked spending time at the coast.
Her husband, two brothers and a sister preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Susan Navey Davis and son-in-law Mike Davis, grandson Landon Davis and wife Meredith, sister Janice Coley, several sisters- and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday evening from 6-8pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary’s St. Raleigh. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 14th at 2pm at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 4921 Six Forks Rd. Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, Meals on Wheels or the American Cancer Society.
