Sharon Lee McKay Armstrong

Sharon Lee (McKay) Armstrong, 75, of Oskaloosa IA, passed away into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, surrounded by family, on Sunday morning January 24th, 2016 in Raleigh NC. after complications associated with COPD. She was able to spend an amazing two weeks over the holidays with her children and grandchildren just before she became ill. Sharon, always generous, was known for her a jovial fun sense of humor as well as her love to entertain and cook for guests. She loved spending time with her sisters, visiting with friends and reading. Her kindness, wonderful smile and overall gentle disposition will be deeply missed. Sharon…mom… grandma will forever be in our hearts.

She is survived by her three sons, Steve and his wife Jimmie Armstrong of Cary, NC, Mike and his wife Chelsea Armstrong of Raleigh NC, and Jim Armstrong of Raleigh, NC; 4 grandchildren, Abby and Jack of Cary, Tate and Wyatt of Raleigh. Her two sisters, Janice Jeffery of Glencoe, IL and Roberta Tassell of Lone Rock, IA and the “3rd sister” Elaine Mallen of Kanawha IA and 10 nieces and nephews, also survive her.

A memorial service will be held Saturday March 19th, 2016 at 1:00pm at First Presbyterian Church, 405 High Ave. East Oskaloosa, Iowa, and reception will follow thereafter. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
