Shirley was born in Ingrams Township, Johnston County, NC on August 24,1934. She was the daughter of Munza Barbour Hayes and Paul Hayes.
Shirley was a graduate of Four Oaks High School and attended Hardbarger Business College. Her career included accounting positions at Diversified Investments, IBM and WakeMed. Shirley was a dedicated mother and grandmother, an avid dog lover, an amateur genealogist, and a woman of deep Christian faith.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Munza Hayes, and brother, Jerry G. Hayes. She is survived by her daughter Tonya Zucker (David); grandchildren, Ashley Zucker and Michael Zucker; and brother Sherwood Hayes (Shirley).
The family would like to thank the Angie Davis and Tammie Luke for the companionship they offered her during her final months.
A graveside service and celebration of life was be held on Wednesday, May 22nd at 3:00 PM at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
