Shirley was an energetic, feisty person with a zest for life and an infectious laugh. She was one who knew no stranger and had a mind like a trap; bringing things up from 30 years ago. She was dedicated to her family and her husband, living in different places around the world, supporting her husband in the US Army.
She is lovingly remembered by James, her husband of 50 years, son Ted “TJ” Kollar and wife Laurie, of Niceville, FL; daughter, Laura Broadbelt and husband Bruce, of Holly Springs, NC. She will also be missed by her dear grandchildren, Lauren, Lindsey (Nate), Leigh Ann, Lydia, Kyle, and Kirk. She was predeceased by her parents, brother, Matthew Markell and sister Kathleen Marrs.
A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 7, at the family residence, 9201 White Eagle Ct., Raleigh NC 27617.
