
Susan Jones McNeely, a devoted mother, grandmother, and faithful member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024, at the age of 77. She is preceded in death by her beloved father David R. Jones, mother Mary Ann C. Jones, and son Mac McNeely.
Born on April 8, 1946, in High Point, North Carolina, Susan attended Mooresville Senior High School and went on to graduate in 1968 from Queens College of Charlotte, where she formed lifelong friendships and cherished memories.
Susan dedicated many years of her life to serving others, working as an Instructional Assistant in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. Her passion for education shone through in her work, touching the lives of countless students and colleagues with her patience, wisdom, and dedication.
A woman of unwavering faith, Susan was an active member of both First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, NC, and White Memorial Presbyterian Church in Raleigh, NC. She found solace and community in her church family, and her commitment to serving others reflected her deep-rooted Christian values.
Family was the cornerstone of Susan's life. She is survived by daughter, Suzanna M. Beamish (Mark) of Cary; grandchildren, Aidan and Lainey Beamish, of Cary, and Eleanor Melton, of Huntersville; and by brother David Jones (Vicky) of Kernersville.
Susan will be remembered for her boundless spirit, her unwavering faith, and her deep love for her family and community. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life for Susan at White Memorial Presbyterian Church in the Jane Bell Gathering Space on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 3:00 PM.
