We were saddened to hear the news about Tom and want to send our love and support to Dee and the family. 

Tom was such a trusted friend, neighbor and father-figure to so many of us. He was always generous with his time and was there whenever anybody needed help. As we look around our house we see so many projects that Tom did for us, or was willing to patiently teach us how to do it ourselves and  "do it right" over the years.

I don't have too many pictures of Tom where he isn't in the middle of measuring, cutting, fixing or building something.  (Is anyone surprised?!?)

I wanted to share this gem, from one of the first Halloween parades in the Kitts Creek neighborhood, where Tom was so proud to show off his little Zoe.

We are saddened by the sudden loss of our dear friend Tom and extend our deepest sympathies to the Mushow Family. He was a fun, easy going guy and we enjoyed many cold beers over good conversations together. Bonus that he was also a talented, all-around handyman ready and willing to lend a hand or give advice. He certainly leaves behind pieces of him in all the many jobs he's done for so many of us. What a legacy! He was greatly loved, respected and admired by all.

Such a shock and tremendous loss for all who knew Tom!  He was so knowledgeable, capable and competent in all things “handyman”.  In my home alone he did electric, plumbing, tile, carpentry and cabinet work as well as countless miscellaneous jobs.  He even up righted my gas grill when it fell over in a windstorm, then anchored it into the ground so it wouldn’t happen again.  The more profound loss is that of the hospitality, comradery and friendship he brought to our community and the deep love he had for Dee and his family.  Tom will surely be missed, but never forgotten.  Trusting the Lord to provide comfort and peace in the coming days.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tom.  He was a great friend to us and we are grateful for the wonderful times we spent  from our days in Kitts Creek.  

I just heard the heartbreaking news about Tom. He was such a great man and was so helpful to me when we were between maintenance men at the community clubhouse "Hemingway Hall".  I was the Community Manager and Tom was a resident and talented handyman with every tool imaginable. I am so thankful that he shared his knowledge and talents selflessly with the community he loved so much. I used to tell him he reminded me of Chevy Chase not only did he look like him but he had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be truly missed by all who knew him!

Tom was a great friend, neighbor (in Kittscreek) and a fatherly figure to me. Couldn't agree more with others, always had an welcoming smile. He gave his unbiased opinion and guidance when helping someone and wanted to do his best.  He was a very hard worker. I remember when doing repair jobs with him, he would keep going and has to be told to stop :). I had just meet him on the 27th when he had come to do some work at his old house in Kittscreek, so its still shocking to me.  My prayers to Dee and the family. May Tom rest in peace and be forever remembered. 

Mushow Family:
We are deeply saddened to hear about Tom.  We have known him now for nearly eight years through the Kitt Creek Community.  He was a kind man and the best handyman ever. He would come and help out at a moments notice.   I called him in an emergency situation just a few days before his passing with a broken irrigation pipe and  even after having dental work done he was here the same day and finished the job. He had a wealth of knowledge   He always talked so fondly of his family. We were grateful to have known him.   We are so sorry.  Thoughts and prayers to The Mushow Family.  He truly will be missed.

Dee, David and Chris,  Michelle and I offer our deepest sympathy with the passing of Tom.   He will be missed by all he touched.  He truly was a special man.

My relationship with Tom grew daily over the past 5+ yrs.  We shared many  beers, bourbons, laughs and some tears.   I loved hanging out with Tom as I learned many things as he shared his life experiences.   Whether it be from his tour in Vietnam to his career in the corporate world, Tom always had something to share.   I also learned so much from Tom as he was a master handyman.  Honestly I never found anything he didn't know about or how to do and fix.   He also had the tool for every job!  And...parts?  His garage is a mini-HomeDepot!   Working together with him made you appreciate the need for planning, patience and preserverance.   

Tom was a guy who would do anything for anyone regardless of the situation.  He was a skilled craftsman, master handyman, Husband, Father and Grandfather.  But most of all he was just a good guy!

I was proud to call him Friend.  My memories of and with Tom will never fade.    I love him and will miss him dearly.   He is the Big Brother  I never had!

I have been friends with Chris for for over a decade. I had the pleasure of meeting Tom a couple of dozen times. When I was first starting my business he drove all the way down to help Chris and I build out a refrigerated trailer to transport seafood in.

He did this task without wanting any type of compensation he just wanted to help one of his son's friends.

 For 2 days Tom and Chris ran circles around me as we put together and insulated the trailer.

He did all of this out of the kindness of his heart...never skipped a beat in 2 days and smiled at the end he was grateful to be able to help me.

As I drove away I realized how lucky I was and also how lucky Chris was to have such a  father.


Tom will be greatly missed by many.  Tom was the first person I met at Creekside. What a great friend he became, always willing to lend his tools and expertise. The best garage mancave ! The many good times will always  be remembered, as one of the nicest persons he will not be forgotten.

Tom was one of the first guys I met when we moved to Creekside .  We immediately hit it off, and played golf weekly.  He was gracious enough to invite me to join his dart group, where we would also tip a Bourbon or two. 

I couldn't have asked for a better friend.  My heart is saddened by his passing.  He will forever be in my heart and mind. 

Dee. I am so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing  I remember with such fond memories at Verizon. And do many times at your home in Syracuse.  My heart and prayers are with you and all of your family

Dee, I was so sorry to hear of Tom’s passing. Although I didn’t spend much time with him I knew he was a great guy. He really had the most beautiful smile. Please know I am thinking of you.

Our heartfelt sympathy at the passing of our Dear Tom. Shocking and heartbreaking at the same time! We saw him last Monday, and so it’s still hard to accept his passing! 

One of the sweetest persons we have ever known here in the U.S. An embodiment of the true American spirit! Always ready to help, warm, welcoming and sincere! Our whole family loved him. May his soul rest in peace!

Enjoyed getting to know Tom when we moved to Kitts Creek. He was very helpful and lent his expertise to us multiple times. He was a great teacher and was always willing to get back even when spending time with family. His village was his family. He'll be missed by all who knew him. As Anne’s cousin, meeting Dave’s dad at family gatherings, I learned Tom was so easy to talk to and welcoming. His smile and laughter are my best memories and my prayers are with all those who love him. 


My favorite memory of Tom was working with him in my garage to build an aquarium stand for his son.  We had a blast and told many jokes those days.  There wasn’t anything that Tom wouldn’t do for his kids or anyone else for that matter.  He loved helping people.
