

Tiffany Traynham Klappenbach, age 87, passed away on January 21, 2024 at Sunrise of Raleigh. Born on May 30, 1936 in Bluefield, West Virginia; she was the daughter of the late John Edward Traynham, Jr. and Nancy St. Clair Traynham and wife of the late Larry Klappenbach.
She grew up in Waynesboro, Virginia where she met Larry and married in 1957. Tiffany and Larry soon moved to Florida where they started their family. They later moved to Dallas Texas, Charlotte NC, and Atlanta, Georgia before retiring on Lake Tillery near Albemarle, NC.
Tiffany was an avid writer and had a passion for genealogy. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution. Tiffany wrote many stories and devotions, some were published and some were note. Tiffany was also a huge Atlanta Braves fan.
She is survived by her sons: David and Elizabeth Klappenbach, of Laurens, Iowa, Brian Klappenbach of Raleigh, NC, and Bruce and Shannon Klappenbach, of Raleigh, NC,; grandchildren: Preston Klappenbach, Andy Klappenbach, Charlie Klappenbach, and Elliott Klappenbach; brother: John Edward Traynham III; sister: Nancy Traynham Johnston; and other extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the First Lutheran Church in Albemarle, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church – 230 South Second Street - Albemarle, NC 28001.
