

She was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and Will Hudson; her brother, Bill Hudson III; and her eldest son, John E. Beaman III.
Boots is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John E. Beaman, Jr.; son, William Stuart Beaman; son, Michael Hudson Beaman and wife Jane; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Emory Beaman; five beloved grandchildren, Kylie Stewart Beaman, Kenna Hudson Beaman, Kathryn Quinn Beaman, Andrew Grier Beaman and Brooke Nicole Beaman; niece, Nancy Hudson Cox and husband Doug; nephew, John Hudson and wife Lucilla; very special great nephew, James Raymond Tripp.
Boots graduated from Broughton High School, Raleigh, and Salem College, Winston-Salem, NC. A charter member of White Memorial Church, she enjoyed volunteering. She was on the Board of Directors with Family Services and Southlight. Most recently, she served as a mediator in Wake County District Criminal Court.
Her love for these volunteer positions did not distract from her commitment and love for her family, which remained her primary focus. Boots will be remembered for her strength, grace, honesty and devotion to others and above all, as a true southern lady.
A visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 25th from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary’s St. Raleigh.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Sept. 26th at 2:30pm at White Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1704 Oberlin Road Raleigh, NC. Burial will follow at Historic Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, 2420 Raleigh Boulevard; Raleigh, NC, 27604, or to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park # 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
