Born on October 6, 1941, Warren lived a life marked by service, compassion, and unwavering faith. After earning his medical degree from Louisiana State University, he went on to serve the community of Lumberton, NC, as a general surgeon for over 30 years. His steady hand, gentle spirit, and Christlike care for his patients created a legacy of healing that touched countless lives.
Before beginning his medical career, Warren proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, a chapter that deepened his lifelong sense of duty and service to others.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Virginia Williamson of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Evelyn Munson Williamson. Together, Warren and Evelyn built a life rooted in deep Christian faith, devotion, and unwavering partnership. He is also survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Bauman (Stephen) of Silver Spring, MD; his son, Michael Williamson (Stacie) of Raleigh, NC; and his two brothers, Parker Williamson (Patty) of Annapolis, MD, and Roger Williamson (Karen) of Killeen, TX. Warren was a proud and devoted grandfather to Whitman, Miller, and Merritt Williamson, all of Raleigh, NC — and “Gramps” was never happier than when he was surrounded by them.
Warren will be remembered as a man who walked humbly with God. His love of Scripture, his devotion to his church community, and his quiet, steadfast faith shaped every chapter of his life. He lived out the fruits of the Spirit daily — offering kindness, strength, patience, and generosity to all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 7 at 2 o’clock pm at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 100 E Peace St, Raleigh, NC, 27604, where Warren worshiped faithfully for many years.
