

Wei Wha Wu went home to Heaven to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 29, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Wake County. He passed away peacefully after suffering from Multiple Myeloma for over a year.
Wei Wha was born on October 29, 1933 in Penghu, China. He grew up in Taiwan, graduated from the Taiwan National University in 1957 with an Electrical Engineering degree and received his M.S. degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1962. He joined IBM at Yorktown Research in 1962 and worked at IBM until his retirement in 1992. He received numerous patents and awards for his technical contributions. He was also a second line manager with over 70 employees. He was devoted to his engineering career.
He was married to Siao Huy Wu for forty nine years. He is survived by his wife and two grown children, Janet , a violinist and Justin, a radiation oncologist, as well as his son-in-law, Gerald York , daughter-in-law, Linda Thai, and his two grandsons, Christopher and Benjamin Wu.
He was a member of the Raleigh Chinese Christian Church in Cary and was also active in the Chinese Christian Mission Church in Durham. He had a wonderful sense of humor, regaled people with many funny true stories. He was also a faithful witness for Christ with his simple faith and testimonies.
For his funeral: The viewing will be this coming Saturday, December 3rd at 2:00 pm, followed by a bi-lingual Christian memorial service at 3:00 pm in the mausoleum chapel located at the Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh. His entombment will ensue at the mausoleum.
