

William was born in Henderson N.C. on August 18, 1929. He was the son of the Late Leon and Rebecca Frazier of Vance County. William graduated from Zeb Vance High School and attended Mars Hill College and Wake Forest College (Now Wake Forest University). Following Wake Forest, he pursued a career in sales as an agent for The Citizens Bank and Trust Company. Later he joined Pine State Creamery Company (Then Southern Ice Cream Company in Henderson) as an Assistant Manager and then Manager. In 1965 William was transferred to Raleigh, N.C. where he remained until retirement (totaling 38 years) with Pine State Creamery and served in several capacities.
William, for 15 years after retirement, worked for Mitchell Funeral Home and Brown-Wynne Funeral Homes as a funeral associate and ambassador. Bill took great pleasure every morning in delivering fresh Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to families which had just experienced a death. This became his signature program while working at the funeral home.
His quiet personality and gentleness helped to comfort many families as he served in this capacity.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Rebecca Frazier and brother Thomas Frazier.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dolores Matthews Frazier, his son, William Preston Frazier and Wife Susan Beck –Frazier of Winterville, N.C. and their two children Jennifer Frazier Mabe and husband Jaime Mabe and Brian Garrett Frazier; and by his daughter Dee Ann Frazier Patton and husband David Scott Patton and their two daughters Rebecca Paige Patton and Morgan Allison Patton, all of Raleigh; and great granddaughter Harper Caroline Mabe.
Also surviving are brother Leon George Frazier, Jr. of Beaufort, N.C. and Betty Rose Frazier Gibbs of Atlanta, GA. He leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, Oct. 18, 2:00pm at First Baptist Church, 99 N. Salisbury St. Raleigh, N.C. 27603. The family will receive friends in the Ladies Parlor following the service. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
