

Andrew “Butch” Herchek, age 83, of Randolph, passed away on October 27, 2025. He was born on May 8, 1942, to Michel and Grace (Anderson) Herchek. Butch was raised on the family farm and spent most of his life in Randolph.
A 1959 graduate of Randolph High School, he went on to earn his degree from Kent State University. He dedicated 39 years to Goodyear, where he worked in Tire Technology and at times traveled to various plants across the country.
Butch was deeply committed to his community, serving on the Waterloo School Board for 28 years and the Maplewood Board for 8 years. He was also active in the Ohio School Boards Association for 7 years and proudly served as president of the Randolph Alumni Association for 33 years.
He enjoyed helping with farm work, supporting his children’s activities as they grew up, and spending time on the golf course with his work friends.
Butch is survived by his three children, Mike (Wendy), Susan (Jeff) Flynn, and Andy (Auburn); grandchildren Audrey, Katie, Ellen, Julia, Aiden, and Addie; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judy.
A private memorial service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Randolph on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 11:00 am. A celebration of life will be held at Randolph Community Center following the service from 12:00pm - 2:00pm where family will welcome friends.
