

Born April 16, 1938, in Coshocton, Ohio, and adopted by Gilbert and Marian Stidd, he spent his life devoted to family, hard work, and humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice (Cariglio) Stidd; the couple would have celebrated 65 years of marriage this coming October. Benjamin and Beatrice first met in 1954 at Morris’s Busy Corner in Ravenna, Ohio.
He is survived by three children and eight grandchildren:
Sharon (Stidd) Krummel and her husband Jerry of Green, Ohio, and their four children: Kyle, Connor and his wife Melissa, Maggie, and Brandon
Ben Stidd and his wife Elise of Richfield, Ohio, and their three children: Spencer, Anthoney, and Jordan, and Jordan’s fiancé Tyler
Karen (Stidd) Roberts and her husband Victor of Charlotte, North Carolina, and their son Benjamin Roberts and his wife Megan
He is also survived by his special aunt, Bonnie Sisley; his brothers-in-law, Monsignor Michael Cariglio, Larry Cariglio and his wife Mickey, and Terry Cariglio; and his good friends, Mike Lacivita and Christine Slovinsky. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Bucklew, and his brothers Ron Lent, Dick Stokes, Fred Lent, Russell Lent, and John Lent.
Benjamin Sr. will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his 30-year career with General Motors, and for helping all the “ladies” in Ravenna, Ohio, with their handyman needs after retirement. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his friends Mike, Don, Marino, Dave, and his grandchildren. He was a devoted sports fan of Ohio State and the Cleveland Guardians.
His favorite quote was: “If you’re not 10 minutes early, you’re late.”
Friends and family will be received Monday, October 6, 2025, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend William Kraynak at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 409 W. Main St., Ravenna, please meet at church. Inurnment will take place on a later date in St. Mary Cemetery.
