Carol S. Oktela

She was born on September 13, 1949 in Salem, Ohio the daughter of John Edward and Dorothy Ellen McCall Lundy. She had lived in Ravenna since 1963. She was a member St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Streetsboro. Carol enjoyed crafting, sewing, floral designing, outdoor gardening and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Anthony (Janee) Oktela, and sons Maverick and Maxton of Barberton; Heather (Jeff) Turney and son Trenton of Ravenna; sisters Beverly (Raymond) Whitmore of Pinehurst, NC, Margaret Edgell of Ravenna, twin sister Cathy L. (Earl) Walker of Ravenna; sisters-in-law Betty Tirpak and Patty Neil of Ravenna; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gene.

Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and close friends will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Reverend Pat Ferraro at 11:00 AM on Thursday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 8894 State Route 14, Streetsboro.
