

He was born November 16, 1923, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Linnen) Miley. Charles was a member of St. Peter of the Fields Church and retired from the Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills in 1986. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. Mr. Miley was a Past Grand Knight with the Rootstown Knights of Columbus and a member of Cursillo #99. Charles was a loving family man and helped to raise his brothers. He enjoyed wintering in Umatilla, Florida for the past 19 years. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, and his extensive traveling worldwide.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years Catherine Miley; children: Charles (Scott Duff) Miley Jr. of New Jersey, Joseph Miley of Mansfield, Daniel (Barbara) Miley of Rootstown, Martha (Charles) Clark of Canton, Christine (Theresa Hines) Miley of Akron; step-children: Carl (Twila) McCullough and Douglas (Wilma) McCullough; brothers: Robert Miley of Kent and John (Eloise) Miley of Rootstown; sisters-in-law: Marion Miley and Yvonne Miley; brother-in-law: Glen Pfile; also survived by his grandchildren: Jennifer Miley, Phillip Miley, Cindy Miley, Becky (Bill) Crago, Abby Miley, Carrie (Jake) Protivnac, Heidi (Dave) Knarr, Cassandra (Paul) Oliver; Joe Clark, and Chris Clark; his great-grandchildren: Bradley, Katrina, David, Kevin, Jenna, Elijah, Olivia, Micha, Meghan, David, Rachael, Nevaeh; and all of his step-grandchildren.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife Martha Jean (Davis) Miley, his daughter Catherine Miley, brothers Bill and Thomas Miley, and sisters-in-law Winifred (Donald) Smith, Dorothy (Harold) Pfile, and Helen Pfile.
Friends will be received Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 4-8 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Friends will also be received Friday, December 31, 2010, from 10:00 AM until the 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend David Misbrener at St. Peter of the Fields Church, 3487 Old Forge Rd., Rootstown. Interment will follow with military honors at St. Peter of the Fields Cemetery.
