Cora S. Pierce

She was born January 11, 1943, in Brimfield, Ohio, a daughter of the late Leon Thorton and Mary Elizabeth (Sapp) Shellhorn. Cora was a fun loving, charismatic lady who was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed fishing and dancing, and was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church in Ravenna. Cora also belonged to the American Legion, VFW Auxiliary, and the Italian American Society.

Cora is survived by her sister Grace Pennell of Ravenna and her children: Rosalie (Harold) Hudson of Spicewood, TX, Meralie (Andy) Pierce-Pocock of Stow, Coralie Doss of Ravenna, grandchildren: Samantha and Sabrina Hudson, Drew and Sophia Pocock, Lorenzo Smith, Emma and Eve Doss. She will also be missed by Scott (Terri) Mauck, Dennise (Bill) Meeks, Chuck (Tammy Shaver) Mauck, Angel (Jimmie) Howard, Ed Mauck, Micky (Melanie) Mauck; Marisa and Marty Morris, Ian Mauck, Krysta (Bill) Mimms, Alex Martinez, Shawnee White, Karrissa Shaver, Melina and Cheyenne Mauck, Jessie and Ashlie Davis, Jimmie Howard II “Duce”, Joey Howard, Nina and Evan Mauck, Kaiden and Loghan Mauck, and Wyatt Mimms.

Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received Friday, June 24, 2011, an hour prior to the 11:00 AM burial service officiated by Reverend Carol Evans at the Grace Episcopal Church, 250 W. Cedar St., Ravenna. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place for all of Cora’s family and friends from 6:00 – 9:00 PM on Friday at the American Legion Hall, 109 Elm St., Ravenna.
