

He was born December 19, 1940, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Mary Rose (Hudek) and Peter J. Savage. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army. Dave worked as a welder for 20 years with MacNeil Machine and Engineering in Akron. After leaving there, he became a fulltime farmer.
Dave devoted his time to his family and his farm. He loved to grow vegetables and give them to family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing at his pond. Dave was a loving and giving man, who will be missed by many.
Dave is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice A. (Faulhaber) Savage of Edinburg, sons: David J. (Michelle) Savage II of Fulton, New York, Richard F. (Lisa) Savage of Newton Falls, and Brian J. (Stephanie) Savage of Edinburg, as well as his grandchildren: Brian, Brenden, Cody, Rick, Nathan, Dave III, and Kelley. He is also survived by a sister Shirley Bender of Lake Havasue City, Arizona, his twin brother Robert Savage of Akron, and brothers Richard (Ann) Savage of Atwater, and Charles (Gloria) Savage of Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers John, Don, and Edward Savage.
Friends will be received Thursday, August 25, 2016, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with Reverend John Hengle officiating the funeral service at 6:00 PM. Private inurnment will take place on a later date at Edinburg Cemetery with military honors.
