Dianne C. Allen (nee Ahrens), 80, of Billings, Montana, passed away Monday January 26, 2026 surrounded by family in Cleveland, Ohio. She was born April 16, 1945, in Bloomfield, New Jersey to George and Jane Ahrens (nee Cochran).
Dianne grew up in Bloomfield, New Jersey until the age of seven, after which she moved to Rome, Italy for four years and then onto Mannheim, Germany. She spent the next six years there and graduated from Mannheim American High School in 1963.
Dianne earned a Joint Degree from Kent State University and the University of Pittsburg with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. She was a dedicated Physical Therapist for over 40 years, finding true joy in helping others and taking pride in the care and commitment she brought to her work. Dianne was also a Professor of Physical Therapy at Indian Hills College in Ottumwa, Iowa during the 1990’s.
Dianne found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially Scottish dancing, knitting, travelling, playing cards, and camping. In later years, she kept herself active by teaching Tai Chi at a local community center. Throughout Dianne’s life she kept in touch with her fellow students who attended her Mannheim, Germany high school. Each year they would pick a new city, usually in the United States to have an annual reunion open to all who attended high school there. Dianne never missed one of these reunions and created more memories every time they would meet.
During the last few years of her life, Dianne started on her Alzheimer journey. She was getting forgetful, but she still remained happy with a smile on her face. She enjoyed when friends would come to visit and they would laugh together as they shared their memories.
She was married to her beloved husband “TD” for over 57 years and was a devoted mother to her three children and a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren with an eighth on the way.
Dianne was preceded in death by her husband Robert “TD” Allen, her sisters, Jean Sinnenberg, and Fran Kavanaugh. She is survived by her daughter Monica Birko (Alan) and her sons Douglas and Brandon, her sister Mary Quigley (Tom deceased), her grandchildren Ashley Birko, Braden Birko, Ryun Allen, Tyler Allen, Ezra Callisto (Julia), Jake Long, Izaiah Long (Krista), Kylonna Parkins (Carter), and many great-grandchildren.
There will be no funeral service held at this time. A celebration of life for Dianne’s life will take place in Billings, Montana in July, 2026. Notifications will be sent out at that time.
