

He was born July 27, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Bernard Donald and Floda (Wilson) Staats. Don was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He worked as a machinist as well as a volunteer firefighter and paramedic in Bainbridge.
Don loved to ride his Goldwing and was a member of the GWRRA. He also enjoyed fishing and old cars. Don liked to draw cartoons for his grandkids and hang out with his “little” Chihuahua, Sarge.
Donald is survived by his sons: Terry (fiancée Melissa) Staats and Thomas (Cassandra) Staats, grandchildren: Allyson, Jonathan, Sophia, and Ariana, as well as his mother Floda Staats. Don is also survived by his siblings: Bernie (Teresa) Staats, Pam (Joe) Bozic, Jeff Staats, Steve (Wendy) Staats, Missy (Julius) Nagy, and Kimberly (Ric) Anderson, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother Larry Staats.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., with Pastor David Ballert officiating the funeral service at 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 12:00 PM at Sunset Memory Gardens in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
