Dorothy Mae (Kunar) Thomas

Dorothy Mae Thomas (Kunar) passed away Monday January 12, 2026, peacefully with family. She was born February 27, 1940, in Ravenna to Louis & Helen Kunar. Dorothy was a devoted wife and was married sixty-five years to Bill Thomas.

Dorothy is survived by her four brothers Paul, Larry, Eddie, and Fred.

Dorothy graduated in 1958 from Ravenna Township High School and went to Akron Beauty School shortly after. She had two daughters, Teresa Marie (Doug Beers) and Melisa K (Joseph Nahoopii).

Dorothy was a proud grandmother of 4 grandchildren (Christopher, Hannah, Nicole, and Devan) and 3 great grandchildren (Thomas, Remington, and Kristen Mae).

Dorothy loved to go to casinos and playing poker was her passion. Traveling was also something that she enjoyed with destinations like Colorado, Louisiana, North Carolina, Mexico, Las Vegas, Hawaii, New York, Michigan, and Florida to name a few. The family looked forward to her signature dishes during the holidays and gatherings. Dorothy was dependable, loyal, and often entrusted with the town’s latest gossip over late evening phone calls with family and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St. in Ravenna. Family will be officiating and remembering Dorothy from 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM with a light luncheon following.
