Duff was a great person to know always telling great jokes when he stopped in. we bought bags from him new he retired and  just found out today he passed he is a  bright star in the sky tonight for us will be missed Gish Logging Inc. as Hotsticks

I met Duff in Mrs. Schafer's kindergarten class at the old Highland School. We spent a lot of time  building things with giant 
blocks.  In later years  I remember, riding around in Duff's 1946
Chevy hot rod (beautiful car & fast). I always enjoyed hanging out with Duff.  He was always  similing and happy. I was lucky to have known him and to call him my friend.

We were so sad to hear about Duff’s passing, he was just a bundle of fun! My husband Dick said he knew Duff from Kent States ROTC Drill Team when Duff was a freshman. Small world.
He will be missed.

Years ago, my late husband and I  placed the winning bid at a reverse raffle for a plane ride to Pennsylvania and dinner at the airport.  Duff was the pilot, and his lovely wife,  Marty, was the co-pilot.  It was a very  enjoyable day. That's my favorite memory of Duff...he was a great guy and will be missed.

I was shocked to read of Duff's passing.  He and I were opponents in a recent Portage County Amateur Golf Tournament,  We played in the same foresome and had a good time.  He was a great golfer.  During the round he always had a couple jokes to tell.  We new each other for many years through the Ravenna Elks Lodge.  His whit and smile will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of our former neighbor. My late husband, Dick Fischer and our sons, Greg, Keith and Scott,  and I lived next door and enjoyed our friendship with Duff, Marty and watching their sons grow up. There were many parties he and Marty hosted  that were enjoyed by so many. Movie nights where old black and white movies were shown on a sheet placed on the wall of the garage usually on July 4 if my memory serves me correctly along with the volleyball games on their lit court between our houses. Duff had our two older sons work in the crew pit when he was racing at Nelson Ledges. I'll never forget watching him teach his sons to swim in our pool. Sooo... many memories.

Hard to believe Duff is gone.  Remember meeting him at the Ravenna Boys Club (the old Walnut School) in the early 1960's. The highlight of my little league baseball career was playing against his team,  the mighty Highland Tigers. Knew him in high school along with Elsa and Mike.  He was a great guy from a wonderful family which became even better with the addition of Marty. Hate to see you go, Duff, but sure am glad we had you for so many years.  RIP.  Mike Prendergast

56 years ago, during a brief crossing of our paths at Homestead Air Base, Duff introduced me to my amazing wife, Carol Smith (Ravenna Class of ‘67). Need I say more? But I will! In the early times following, Duff’s “comedy central” on Lafayette Ave. was often host to me as I visited Ravenna and got to meet his crazy group of ‘Bro’s and ‘Sibs. He was one of the great raconteurs and I always enjoyed his stories and the animation he brought to them. Carol and I will miss him and send our warmest regards and deepest sympathies to Marti, Eric, Clay and the rest of Duff’s family and friends.

Jane McCormick Postlethwaite and  Larry Postlethwaite are very sad to hear that Duff has past away.  We enjoyed hearing of his escapades in travel and flying. I remember Duff as far back as Highland Grade School. He was such a wonderful, caring and loving man.  He will be very much missed and remembered  always.

It feels like I knew Duff forever. He was always a friend  to everyone he met. . He will be missed by many people.
