Edith Marian Pridemore

Edith was born February 3, 1919, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the daughter of Thomas Allen and Queene Victoria Nuckles.

Edith retired as an office administrator for Webb Medical Associates. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ravenna, a lifelong supporter of the Ravenna Elks Lodge #1076 and a 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star - Ravenna Chapter of Eastern Star. She was an avid golfer until 88 years old and continued playing duplicate bridge and bingo with all of her friends. Edith was an avid worker at the Portage County Board of Elections.

She is survived by her son, Kenna Edward (Pam) of Warren, Ohio, and her daughter, Sue Marie of Council Bluffs, Iowa. Surviving also is her brother, Lawrence “Stretch” Nuckles, brother-in-law, James Robert Pridemore, and sister-in-law, Lola Turley.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, C. Kenna Pridemore in January, 1992, whom she married on May 10, 1941 at the Methodist Church in Gallipolis, Ohio.

Friends will be received on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M., with Order of Eastern Star services commencing at 3:30 P.M. at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, where funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Don Kainrad officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
