Edna Mae (Gower) Siciliano

She was born June 17, 1934, in New Milford, Ohio, to parents James Lester and Blanche Mae (Saltz) Gower. Edna graduated from Rootstown High School in 1951, and married her beloved Oreste “Rusty” Siciliano in 1953.

Edna was a Christian and member of Friendship Bible Church. She was a charter member of the New Milford Baptist Church, and the original church was built on land donated by her family. Edna loved music and played the hammered dulcimer.

Most of all, Edna was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed knitting and would make gifts for her family. She would often babysit and volunteer at the family’s pizza shop.

Edna is survived by her sons: Jim (Josie), Tom (Cindy), and Don Siciliano, her grandchildren: Keri Roosa, Tommy Siciliano, Kylie (Will) Horne, Joey Siciliano, her great-grandchildren: Dakota, Dominic, and Luka, as well as her sisters: Margaret Williams and Marie (Dick) Miller.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oreste “Rusty”, her sons Rick, Donald Eugene, and Joseph Alan, and her grandson Alan.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, July 21, 2022, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., where funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Bill Johnson on Friday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Homeland Cemetery in Rootstown.
