

Eric Michael Decker, 47, of Hudson, Ohio passed away January 9, 2026, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio following a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Ravenna on April 17, 1978, to parents Vanessa (Giorgio) and Blaine (Mike) Decker.
Eric attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Kent State University. He began his banking career at Bank of America in Cleveland. He was very proudly the Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer for Portage Community Bank in Ravenna.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Erika (Weaver), step-daughter Allison Tepsick, step-mother Brenda Decker; sister-in-law Leanna Weaver and nephew Beckett Weaver of Grand Rapids, Michigan; father-in-law George Mass of North Royalton, Ohio; step-brother Matthew Buck of Athens, Ohio; aunts and uncles Thomas (Jeanne) Decker, Mary Lou (Richard) Kline, Rose Bosko, and John (Joann) Robertson; cousins Adam Decker, Amy Decker, Wendy Holcolmb, Mark Bosko, Teresa Bosko, Rebecca Farhat and Steven Farhat and his beloved dog Harley.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lillian (Bosko) Siegfried, Doris (Robertson) Decker, Blaine and Estella Decker, brother-in-law Ryan Weaver, father-in-law Thomas Weaver and mother-in-law Terry Mass; great aunts and uncles Frank Bosko, Joe and Olga Salamon, Guy and Elena Giorgio and cousin Michael Farhat.
He was also active in several community organizations, generously volunteering his time with local charities and civic groups. Eric was known for his commitment to fostering economic development and supporting small businesses throughout the region.
Eric played youth baseball in Ravenna. As a teenager and during college he worked at Windmill Lakes Golf Course in Ravenna where he met many lifelong friends. Eric was a huge Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed watching and attending games with family and friends. He was also an avid golfer, skilled poker player and loved performing card tricks. Eric’s quick sense of humor, generous spirit, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends and family will be received Friday, January 16, 2026, from 3:00 – 6:00 PM with a funeral service officiated by Chaplain Bill Wisniewski at 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St, Ravenna.
