

George D. (Dan) Krichbaum, 90, passed away on August 3rd, 2024 at the family home in Mantua, Ohio. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on June 23, 1934 and was raised in Atwater, Ohio, where he graduated from Atwater High School in 1952.
Dan attended Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana. He was hired by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1954 and drafted into the US Army in 1956, where he served as a Paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division.
He returned to work with the railroad in 1958 and continued his 43-year career as a Freight Train Conductor, retiring in 1994.
Dan enjoyed many hobbies over the years, to include photography and woodworking. He was an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers fan for decades. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Dan was married to his beloved wife, Becky on March 18, 1961. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Grace (Haas) Krichbaum, brothers; Donald Krichbaum, John Krichbaum, daughter; Heidi Jo Krichbaum and daughter-in-law: Krista Krichbaum.
Dan is a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Mantua, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife; Rebecca of Mantua, sisters; Lois Ante of Arizona, Beverly Glaab of Louisville, sons; Paul (Melissa) of Canton, John of Wadsworth, daughter; Patricia Miterko (Jeff) of Suffield.
Grandchildren; Sarah, John, Jacob, Hannah, Kennedy, Gavin. Great-granddaughter; Grace, and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was a very supportive and generous man. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the Cleveland Clinic Hospice Program for their kindness and support.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Thursday, August 8th, 2024, at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St, Ravenna, Ohio 44266. Private family graveside service, officiated by Rev. Blake J. Martzowka, will be held at Marlboro Cemetery.
