Gilbert Daniel McKitrick Jr.

He was born January 18, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, to parents Wilma (Wyant) and Gilbert McKitrick Sr. Dan was raised in Brimfield, and was a member of the first graduating class of Field High School in 1963. He was a truck driver who graduated from Ohio Diesel Tech, and later taught there as well.

Dan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tallmadge. He held many offices at the church. Dan was also a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Dan is survived by the love of his life, Jean McKitrick, whom he married 52 years ago on February 16th. Also surviving are his children: Tim (Debbie) McKitrick, John McKitrick, Tammie Evans, and Adam McKitrick, his brothers Jim (Kay) McKitrick and Jerry (Linda) McKitrick, along with 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry McKitrick, and his sister Sandy McKitrick.

Friends will be received Saturday, February 13, 2016, from 12:00 – 1:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with Bishop Andrew MacPherson presiding over the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Private burial will take place on a later date at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
