He was born in Mantua, Ohio on September 22, 1926 to parents Zig and Katie Mesko. Henry enjoyed a long career as a carpenter as well as tending his farm in Shalersville. As a carpenter by trade he was always building or fixing things. Very resourceful he could just about make anything out of anything and built his first house by himself. Henry had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. Over the years he enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing and loved to go square dancing with his wife Jane. Henry was a big Cleveland sports fan.
Henry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jane (Weideman), and his children: Greg (Melissa) Mesko and Connie (Gene) Barber. He also leaves his grandson Matthew (Lauren) Mesko and his great-granddaughter Haley Mesko. Surviving also are his nephew and niece Carl (Linda) Jahn and Elaine (George) Vaughan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters: Florence Jahn and Martha Starker.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm where funeral services, officiated by Chaplain Anthony Wiggins, will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 17. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville.
A reception will be held at the Shalersville Town Hall immediately following the interment.
