She was born July 23, 1933, Graysville, Pennsylvania, to parents Harry Staggers and Mary (McCracken) Staggers. Imogene graduated from Windridge High School. She worked for several area rubber companies, and also for 12 years at SeaWorld.
Imogene was an active member of Portage Faith United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Daughters of America. She was a talented seamstress with needlepoint and making quilts. Imogene enjoyed spending time with her cats, watching the birds, and keeping her mind sharp with word search puzzles.
Imogene is survived by her daughter Edwina Wilbur, her son David (Beverly) Fletcher, her grandchildren: Justin Shannon, Christopher Fletcher, Noah Shannon, and Tristan (Alexandra) Fletcher, as well as her sisters Berthie Mae Schirich and Evelyn Jane Welling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willis Fletcher, her sister Doris Grim, and her brother Joseph Staggers.
Graveside services will be officiated by Reverend Bill Graham at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Riverside Cemetery in Shalersville.
