He was born June 20, 1941, in Atwater, Ohio, to parents Jasper E. and Margaret M. (Hadinger) Wilhelm. James graduated from Atwater High School in 1959, and continued his education at Ohio University, and later received his master’s degree from Penn State. He worked as a paralegal with Deutsche Bank in New York City.
James taught German for several years and enjoyed traveling. He traveled all around the world, including extensive visits to Europe, Thailand, Vietnam, India, and Africa.
James was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers Roger and Terry Wilhelm.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Barbara Marchand-Murdock and David Murdock, as well as his sisters-in-law Betty Wilhelm and Kathleen Nelson, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
