

She was born December 12, 1951, in Huron, South Dakota, a daughter of James and Janice (Rodman) Mortimer. Janell graduated from Huron High School in 1970. She married the love of her life, Jerald Kallenberger on August 1, 1970, and the couple raised their two children, Joy Renae and Jeffery Floyd.
Janell taught piano, assisted in school classrooms, and worked as a church secretary in Rochester and Faribault, Minnesota. She enjoyed lecturing for various ladies groups and was an advocate of Weight Watchers. Mostly, she was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Jerald F. Kallenberger of Rootstown, Ohio, daughter Joy (Naser) of St. Louis, MO, son Jeffery (Naomi) of Springfield, MO, grandchildren: Alia, Gabriel, Alec, and Ashley, father James Mortimer, sisters: Cleo (Doug) Tiede, Joan (Dave) Pfortmiller, and Leahdee (Raymond) Wright, brother Frank (Karon) Mortimer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Janell was preceded in death by her mother Janice Mortimer and her grandparents.
Friends will be received Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with Pastor Scott Hindel officiating the funeral service at 6:00 PM. Interment will follow on a later date at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Huron, South Dakota.
