
On the wings of a butterfly Joan Barber, 77, was carried home on October 6, 2011. A native of Ravenna, she moved to The Villages, FL in 1999.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dave Barber, son and daughter-in-law, Lou and Laura Schneeberger, Solon; and son Dave Schneeberger (fiancé Sandy Redd), North Canton; step-sons, Dave Barber, Atwater; Tim Barber, Ravenna; and Rick Barber, Cuyahoga Falls; 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Robyn Baker.
Joan was very close to her family which included six sisters and two brothers. She is survived by four sisters, Norma Murdock, Ravenna; Laura Joiner, The Villages, FL; Jean Rothermel, Atwater; and Joyce Sferra, The Villages, FL. Joan was preceded in death by parents, Laurel & Mildred Chalker, two brothers and two sisters. Joan was a wonderful sister, mother and grandmother.
Joan was a member of the Moose Lodge and her family’s Secret Sisters Club. She loved golf, bowling, couponing, mah-jong, and sewing.
A gathering of friends and family will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 5th, followed by a memorial service at 11:00am at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main Street, Ravenna.
