

He was born January 3, 1939, in Logan, West Virginia, to parents John and Ruby (Kinder) Chandler. John proudly served his country twice as a member of the US Marine Corps, and later he reenlisted as a member of the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Chandler was a member of VFW Post 9716 in Streetsboro.
John worked for Samuel Moore & Company in Mantua, as well as Stouffers Frozen Foods in Solon. He loved going fishing and hunting, and also camping with his daughter Jennifer. John enjoyed riding his many motorcycles throughout his life. He will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years Martha “Marti” Chandler; his daughters: Jennifer Chandler and Melissa (Tom) Staggs; grandchildren: Sara and Emilee Chandler, Gracie, Kylee, and Brayden Staggs, as well as his uncles: David (Hope) Kinder and Ray Kinder; and his aunts: Jean (David) Smith and Betty Barker.
Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received Tuesday, February 10, 2015, from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna, with Pastor Ronald Lanham officiating the memorial service at 11:30 AM. Inurnment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Tuesday at 2:00 PM with full military honors.
