Joseph M. Berner

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, son of Joseph George and Eva Berner.

Joseph retired from Kent State University where he was the Department Head of Campus Printing and Publishing facilities.

Mr. Berner was an enthusiastic square and round dancer and served as President of the the Circulators Square Dance Club of Ravenna.

Joe was a veteran leader of the Boy Scouts of America and was the honored recipient of both the Silver Beaver Award and the Saint George Medal.

He is survived by his daughter Marcia Berner Fortman of Ravenna, son Mark and Kathy Berner of Eleuthera, Bahamas, grandchildren Melissa (Fortman) and Perry Tice of Mantua, Michael and Brandy Fortman of Tallmadge, Kimberly and Cory Whipple of Germantown, TN and Michelle and Bret Stockton also of Germantown and great- grandchildren Joshua and Chase Whipple, Brooke and Ryan Stockton, Hunter Tice and Amelia and Liam Fortman.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Boy Scout Troop 575, in care of St. Joseph Church, 11045 St. Joseph Blvd.,

Mantua, OH 44255.

A private family memorial service will be held later.
