

Judy Elaine Bridges Cheshire, born March 28, 1945, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Lucy Mae Bridges and Thomas Adell Bridges, passed away Monday, January 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family while in hospice care. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, devotion, and compassion.
Judy was raised in Shreveport Louisiana and attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1969. A lifelong learner, she later returned to school and proudly completed her Master’s degree in 2002 from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.
Judy devoted her career to education, retiring as a schoolteacher after many years of dedicated service. She touched countless lives through her patience, encouragement, and genuine care for others. Above all, Judy was a woman of deep and unwavering faith. She loved the Lord and lived each day guided by grace, kindness, and quiet strength.
In 1973, Judy married LT Cheshire. Together they welcomed their son, Micah. LT preceded her in death in 2018.
Judy is survived by her son, Micah Cheshire, his wife, Katie Cheshire, and her treasured grandchildren, Addison, Joel, and Jarett, who were truly the light of her life.
She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters and two brothers and extended family: Andrea Bridges Woodall and her late husband Nolan Woodall, her daughter Ginger Woodall and granddaughter Cierra; Gayle McFarland, his wife Cindy, and their children Chrissy, Zack, and Laura; Daniel McFarland, his wife Carolyn, and his children Josh and Dani McFarland; and Sandra Bridges Reich and her late husband Ricky Reich, her son Thomas Reich, his wife Emily, and their children Tyler, Tori, Kristina, David, and Alex; as well as Johnathan Reich, his wife Sammi, and his children Jade and John. She is also survived by many other cherished family members and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boardman and to Mercy Health Hospice House in Boardman for their compassion, care, and support.
Judy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, and the deep love she poured into her family, her students, and all who were blessed to know her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her church, Highway Tabernacle in Austintown, Ohio, on Saturday January 24th, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
