He was born March 8, 1938, in Saginaw, Michigan, to parents Leon Harold and Maxine West. Kenny proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Air Force. He later worked for many years with the Ravenna Water Department, and then the Meter Department until his retirement in 1994.
Kenny was a devoted member of Blackhorse Baptist Church. He was also an active member of the Crestwood Lions Club and a social member of American Legion Post 331. Kenny was involved with organizing the Ravenna Memorial Day and Balloon-a-Fair parades for several years.
Most of all, he was a dedicated family man. He married his beloved wife Pamela (Roseling) on May 8, 1971. They had two sons, Leon and Joey. Kenny volunteered with the Cub Scouts, Ravenna Rams Football, and Akron BMX while his kids were young. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially when fishing or camping.
Kenny is survived by his wife Pam West, his son Leon West, grandchildren: Eric West and Tara West, as well as his brothers: Bobby West and Paul West, his dear friend Rick Fredrick, and his little Chihuahua, “Hercules.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Joey West, and his sister Sharon West.
His wishes for cremation are being honored. A memorial service will be celebrated by Pastor Tom Mesaros at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Blackhorse Baptist Church, 6360 Bridge St, Ravenna, with Military Honors provided by the US Air Force Honor Guard. A time of fellowship will follow at the church.
