

Born February 22, 1932, in Munroe Falls, Ohio, to the late Edward Price and Nancy Lily (Cotton) Cahill, Marcella was a proud graduate of Randolph High School.
A devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Marcella lived a life full of love, faith, and service to others. She worked as an administrative assistant for Job and Family Services and later as a nurse’s aide. Marcella enjoyed playing cards and Rummikub with family and friends and found great joy in watching horse races, figure skating, and mystery shows.
She is survived by her beloved husband, James O. Horning; her children, Patricia Eichler, Suzanne Livengood, Kenneth Horning, David (Karen) Horning, Jim (Sherry) Horning, and Julie (Jim) Vogt; 18 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Marcella is preceded in death by her parents, siblings; her daughter, Victoria Newnham; grandchildren, Sarah Horning and James V. Horning; and her son-in-law, William Eichler.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Marcella’s life during calling hours on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Parish, St. Joseph Church, 2643 Waterloo Rd, Randolph. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Marcella will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marcella’s memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul–St. John Neumann Parish.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors in the ICU and Palliative/Hospice Care at Summa Akron City Hospital for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
Marcella’s kind spirit, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
